Nothing new to report - everything going well in Mountain Lake... but outside my house a terrible thunder and lightening storm - may have to get off the pc. The storm gods are peeved at something.... So far lights only blinked a few times - but the satellite on the tv cuts out bad - the internet is coming and going... so if you don't hear from me again by morning - it just means it was too bad to keep the pc on. Later - Reg

I hope you don't loose connection or anything.

Well, I finally got the families in... CAW kept crashing- more then it's done in a long time.

So, now I have the bookcase thing going on. There aren't any books in the bookcase but only in CAW/EIG. Exporting and installing the world and they're fine. I don't know what happened.
But- I've uninstalled, downloaded, and reinstalled CAW...
I've uninstalled the base game and reinstalled it... so, I don't know why it's still in all my CAW worlds now. - well, the few I've checked- fresh SSV/RV in CAW/EIG.

I'm uploading the populated version right now. I forgot to ask Quailhogs if he minds me adding his Sim.
I can redo it though- not much problem.

I downloaded the new one - I did have to stay off last night - the power kept going off and on and my internet went to disconnecting a lot. It's still running slow even though the storm has moved on and the sun came up - hopefully improves as things dry up a bit. But anyway, it was slow but I got the download and will install it later. Off to get some sleep. Later.

Well my granddaughter went home last night so this morning I have access to my computer for the first time in a few days. She has become hookid on Sims 3. Just dl'd Mountain Lake the populated version and will start playing in just a bit.
Am confused is the new dl of GC different then the one I have been playing? The one you made available just before this one? I have been playing it and didn't notice any problems. Of course I was busy cleaning out my launcher, and then my gd came for a visit so it has been a while since I was able to play. If so I will save my sims that I have been playing and uninstall the old one and install the new one and put them in.

Hi

@HotBlackBabe - Awesome! Thanks.

@Rukaya - It's the same World. I reuploaded it after messing with the routing again. I wasn't having any problems but several people were and I hope it's working correctly for them now. *knock on wood*

Yay! Another convert to TS3.

~I also plan to upload Mountain Lake to the Exchange soon. Hopefully tonight.

Does anyone know if I download the new upload (redundant much?) and install it with the old download (yet again) still installed, will the new upload install over the old download (ta da!) and if it does will it put an end to my folks there?

Hi,

I'm guessing you're talking about Glenvale City?

They won't work. I have to change the world number for the world to re-upload. You can save your families to the bin and transplant them to the newer version.

Thank you for answering. Yeah, Glenvale City, but I'm kinda of annoyed with those sims anyway . Sim Naelis and my chosen soul mate for her just will not hook up no matter what. The first 'hood with a Naelis in it I had to get her a man from France. No locals would do. Starting over can be fun, plus now I know the lay of the land.

On a totally unrelated note, have you ever been to San Antonio, Texas? Downtown SA is the Riverwalk. It's a staircase down from street level and home to clubs and restaurants, all the good stuff. You ever think of doing a world with something similar? Or a Seattle type world with lush, green areas and area with homes on the water similar to what is in Lucky Palms? If anyone can make those into playable worlds with plenty to offer it would be you.

No problem.

I've been through San Antonio and visited Seattle but I'm not familiar with them at all.
Thanks... Nice that you think I could do them justice.

TheNaelisSim - you know who is from Texas and actually has one of his worlds like that actually named the Riverwalk and is made as you described is EHaught and his world Fort Sims. He has fabulous builds but because they are built for the Riverwalk area, we can't download them to our libraries and use those lots elsewhere or they don't work right - I found out the hard way, and finally understood what his part of Texas is like. I have been to Texas - have several Texan family members, but never to San Antonio - in fact the Towns I have been to are the type you blink and you have reached the city limits. hehehe But I honestly don't recall a whole lot about Texas as it has been many - MANY years since I visited any of the Texas relatives.

But yeah - EHaught I believe lives in that area as Fort Sims main drag is the Riverwalk area. Very lovely for sure.

I have no doubt Rflong could do that - she's so talented she could build anything - I swear. hehehe

Rflong I discovered by sheer stupidity what happens if you forget to remove the old version and add the new - surprisingly for some weird reason my computer allowed it to happen - it generally does not - it generallys says that world is already installed - but like a dummy I only thought I had removed the other before installing the very last GC (before this one - I'm not changing as I am not having a problem with the one I have) but anyway what happens is I had a sort of semi blue lot thing going on - in effect it looked like all my buildings were balancing atop blue lots - real weird - then I went to looking for why and found out I had not uninstalled the first or it's save - so I uninstalled the first and deleted all my caches (but social - don't mess with that or it messes up ST stuff I noticed) and including the world Cache for that town - rebooted and then went into the game and all was right as rain. It was an odd experience and I am still wondering why the game allowed me to even install this version on top of that one seeing their number has to be the same - but I did indeed show both under my documents. I have been wondering if it is possible this happened because perhaps EA has messed with the coding again with the newest patch and trying to solve the "uninstalling store stuff problem" so the game is less sensitive to the "numbers" or something. I honestly do not know what to think but I did not feel like looking into it and possibly messing stuff up as I just finished getting my game ready for SN and just don't want to dilly dally with it on a large scale - experimenting - but I must admit that blew my mind a wee bit as it was definitely a first. I would not even fathom to guess or pre-suppose anything concrete about this game as it seems to constantly change.

I don't plan on repeating that again though, as I don't want to have to do yet another reinstall if I flub up the works experimenting to see if it was a one time occurence or an actual change in the programming.

I made darn sure when you put up the ML pop version, I uninstalled the other, cleaned the caches and removed the save backup, before installing the new version. So I will never say anything is impossible in this game again and just be more diligent in checking things first. hehehe

Wow~ Very strange that it let you and all.
Yes- I've seen those blue holes with buildings. That's what's given me the idea for worlds with different stages of roads and paints...

I don't like when it happens either. Very strange and usually from the same world number but different export with an Save ... I have too many worlds saved.

Oh, Rflong7, you are a wonder. The juice bar in the new Glenvale City does now indeed have a bartender, yay! Lovely.

Now I have a problem with an apartment building, but I don't know if you put it there or I did. It's on the street before the beach, not at the beach. It has a first floor apartment with a huge two-bedroom apartment. For some weird reason the occupants can't seem to figure out how to get from one area to another or even outside sometimes. You mentioned routing and I'm going to guess that apartment has routing issues, of a sort.

And just so you know, I love the inclusion of a nectary and the sim fu training site! Nice to have so many options for my sims and open spaces for future needs/wants. I found a place on the beach perfect for my casino. I like that you leave so many empty lots for me to be able to make this my own. OK, in short, I like this world so very much! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Writin_Reg, so sweet of you to suggest Ed's Fort Sim, which is lovely, but not the Riverwalk I was hoping for, unfortunately. He made a fabulous one in Sims the First. And some amazing lots for Sims 2, but this world just doesn't do it for me. I may be wanting the impossible again. I have a tendency to do that.
