RJ that is a setting in your mouse controls. On some mouse you must set that to middle button and on others I think it is something else. I know my setting is middle button. But anyway find the controls for that - if it had it before and don't now I wonder if you ever put in that mouses drivers or if you are using Windows drivers, as the only tim I ever had to go into my settings besides when one of the mice were new to set that was when windows decided to update it's version of driver for it which put the setting back to what they were when the mouse was installed. That day I went and downloaded the right drivers for my mouse and never had to deal with Windows flaky updating . Also it is possible that mouse may need replacing if it is not a wireless mouse as the first thing to go on my mice is always that stupid button. I guess it also gathers hair and dirt through the scroll actions, especially if you have pets - with me it is cat hair and sometimes my hubby has to take them and either open it and blow mine out with air (I use wireless so you can't clean it the way you can a wired one) or use a tweezer to pull all the hair that might get under the wheel and make it so it will not function as it it is supposed to) The only thing I can guarantee is it wasn't anything to do with the update or everyone would be screaming.
But as I was saying if yours is a wireless it also might just need new batteries. I use wireless but usually see a wonky moving cursa when my batteries are low as I do not have the low battery meter set up to warn me, other wise it comes up well before it needs to. So I leave that shut off, but it is possible a low battery will only allow the mouse to scroll not tilt.
Those are a few of the many things I have gone through with a mouse. Believe me I can't stand it when the mouse is not running perfect, and so I try all those different things first and check the drivers and settings and everything - before I toss in the towel with that mouse and pout til I get a new one. Around here (meaning home) warrior would not get me a new mouse, but pouting always does. Pete says he likes my smile. hehehe. But good luck in finding the problem as it could be any of those things - especially if you are using Windows mouse settings. Windows messes up the mouse more than any other thing with their updates - at least it did before I got Windows 7.
Hugs and prayers coming back at you - big time.

Hi everyone. RJ it is so great to hear from you and I'm very glad you went to the doctor. So sad that you don't have health insurance, what a worry that must be, and you sure don't need that. Well, faith will see you through and provide. You are in my thoughts and prayers as well and I'm not sure what's going on with Gem but she has my support too!
And JM I was sorry to hear about your storm damage. What a mess. It seems like it's one thing after another for you; I sure hope you get a break soon.
Thanks all for the well wishes for the interview. It went well but you never know. If this doesn't work out hopefully something else will come along.
Oh and RJ I am glad you are getting to play but it's too bad your mouse isn't functioning like it should. I'm afraid I don't know what else to suggest about your mouse to fix it other than what WR said. And DD I read those links you gave us on bloated saved games last night. Very fascinating reading. When I get home I'm going to check the sizes of my saved games because now I am curious.
When I get home I'll make a new thread since this one is misbehaving again. Take care everybody!

The invisible first post on a page is such a strange happening. Poltergeists messing with us, LOL?
RJ, I don't know much about mouse problems but the patch didn't break mice Mine is a tiny little wireless thing that gobbles batteries like crazy! I thought I was nuts until my DH said something to someone at work that has the same mouse. He has the same problem. I literally will to through 5-6 sets of batteries while my DH's wireless trackball will still be on the same set.
The thread on bloated saves came about as a result of the large save game Damien offered with Norton that I'm testing. I simply couldn't understand why in the world it was so much bigger than any other save game that I have and started trying to research. I'm really surprised a discussion of that sort didn't start right as Generations was released since memories in that particular package are by far the greatest _IMG bloat. I would say that if a mod is used to manage memories, or, turned off with MC or Velocitygrass's no memory mod that bloat in that package most likely won't be a huge problem.
You should have seen my face, though, when I saw one person on the TS3 CCII thread post their save was something like 777MB in size. Gads, I almost fell out of my chair. No wonder people are complaining that longevity in a save isn't possible and just imagine the loading time for a save that size LOL, Tangie, saying that memory creation wasn't implemented correctly is a huge understatement! EA really should put an option in the game to turn them off.
BTW, if anyone is wondering about simporting using a new combined venue made possible by the recent patch, you can't. Your sim will recognize it as having a dual function but simport will see it as the, in my case, pool rather than coffeehouse. Accepting a request to host in a coffeehouse meets with the msg. that you don't have the right stop in your town.
If you want to use the combo venue for simporting, the workaround is to temporarily change the lot designation to the SHT venue. I was able to host this am by doing that and then changed the lot back to a pool. At this stage combined venues leave something to be desired, LOL.
My one little pic is that of the pool/coffehouse hosting an acrobat.

Thanks , to you all for your support. I figure what ever is God's will is God's will. I will be ok if he so deems.
The comment on Gem, was because, I played the game and was online. She mentioned something about people judging her and / or picking on her , and I got in my warrior mode and wanted to defend her. I have no idea what exactly it was about , but DM , was there also. I just feel loyal to all of you all on the World Explorers /WE. I know I have been missing as of lately, but there are days that I stay in bed all day to combat the pain. I am not complaining, just explaining. I do wish we could all meet in person one day. I did that with a woman that used to play the Sims Online . That was the highlight of my year.
My mouse is a wireless and it could be the problem. I checked the mouse settings and they all looked good to me. So it is either my puter , my mouse, or the batteries to my mouse . I do change my batteries regularly , but they may have been destroyed by a Wrath....this is reference to Stargate. I have just finished all of the different series episodes.
I do enjoy LL and am looking forward to seeing how long my PC , will let me play.
Love you all and my prayers are always with you , whether you want them or not. Later guys and gals.....RJ

I had a wireless mouse last year. I thought how convenient. Ha, every ime I turned around I was changing batteries. Finally went back to the reg. kind. I have a logitech, and so far it works great.
Finally copied all the properties both residential and non, to my library and uninstalled the ones I felt comfortable doing. Yahoo, now I can buy stuff and try new worlds hopefully not worry about things disappearing. I didn't realize how many lots I had dl'd over time.
Sometimes I dl save games and sometimes not. I have tons of room on my computer but egads, there is a limit. It also depends on how interesting the characters are and how many of them. I do like to our sims in the worlds I am playing plus some of my own. I placed some of my new single YAs in Glenview City to see about some matches. Now I can get back to playing since after 2 days I have my launcher cleaned out.
Hang in there Rj, have a good day every one.

Hello world explorers.
I'm back home now after a long drive and busy few days. I was going to make a new thread but I got a message stating they are doing forum maintenance today so I think I will wait to see if it does anything to fix the issues before I post another one. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I hope everyone is doing OK and enjoys the rest of the week!

Hi all!
Glad you are back safely, Tangie. Hopefully, whatever they are working on will fix this strange first post problem but who knows.
No pics but thought I would share a link to a world in the making in the Creator's feedback forum on MTS. It is call Brookwoods and it looks like it is going to be really nice. Arisuka is about 90% done and it will be offered for testing before a final release.
It may need a couple pieces of cc to look exactly like her pics, like those sailboats, but she states no cc will be necessary to run the world. She's also planning on updaing for SN and has an area planned for it. Anyway, I thought othe WEers might want to take a look. There's some really nice pics of it and some of her builds.
Gosh, RJ, I hadn't heard anything about Gem being picked on. LOL, she did get targeted by a group in the gifting forum and got her WL wiped out but that's a good thing. Maybe that's what was going on. Glad you're continuing to like LL and not having a problem running it.
Rukaya, I'll bet you are glad that your library cleanup is over
ETA: It would help if I really put that link in the post http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=477471

Hey guys! Those are cool pics!
I wish I had more SimPort stamps. I really want that Freezer Bunny chair, but nobody ever accepts my host or send requests.
Those are nice pics of the freezer bunny chair!
I have another update, for those interested in Supernatural!
IGN has previewed Supernatural's fairies and zombies! ( Article is here.)
Check out the second pic!
Brain soup! Maybe we're getting some more actual food and recipes, aside from the alchemy elixirs?
Also, another live chat has been officially scheduled!
Friday, August 3rd, at 10:00 A.M. PDT, the second live chat will start!

Well , I am not sure if this has anything to do with the maintenence yesterday, or whenever, but when I purchased a couple of items and when it goes to launcher I get a message about a syntax error having to do with the store and do I want to continue with this script? I have never ever seen that before. What is that all about? Is anybody else having this problem? I have no clue what to do about it.
edit: All I have to do is click on the launcher and it gives this error message:
Error
Line 18 Char 1 Erro: syntax error
code: ) Url: then gives the store address also says user/balance?locale=en_US&callback=updateBalanceCallback I have never seen this before.
Oh, without thinking I went ahead and installed my purchase, and am now thinking I wish I hadn't.
Does this mean I am in trouble and need to reinstall my game? If I do, how do I do it. ? I don't know how to uninstall the game, I know you said you only have to uninstall the base game but how? I made a copy of my library to desk top, but I have to make an updated saves and saved sims file. What else do I do? I hope I don't have to do this. Using the shortcut I have no problem playing the game as that is the first thing I did just to see if I could.

That means they updated Java on the site and you also need to update Java to the newest version. I would also check Origin as well for updates - I get early Origin updates as I am on their list to get them - so I do not know if the newest update is out for everyone else as well - but yeah, when you get a syntax error it is always to do with java script and nothing to do with the game. It is a site thing. So you need to get the correct version of java for your browser - as java comes in 32 bit and 64 bit, you need to know if you Internet Explorer is 32 bit version or the 64 bit version - I have both and also have both versions of java, and I do know they updated just this week as I have automatic updates on java and the pop up came telling me it had to update night before last. So that also had a lot to do with EA maintenance last night as this site runs on Java and adobe flash player - the script though is all java. Do not do nothing to you game. It will not affect your game or your download. You are fine - just this site is going to keep giving you script errors until you update your java.

Reggie, thank you. The more I thought about it during the day I began to wonder, but I hadn't received any notice about a java update, so I was confused. The last one was in April I think. I don't know how to do that so I left a message with the tech who always helps me. I am relieved to know that that is all it is.

Rukaya I know you said you contacted your tech person but you can always check your Java version by going to this site, and it will tell you if there is an updated version from the one you have: http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
Don't use it right after you do a java update unless you have rebooted your PC because apparently it can't detect a newly installed version until you restart your computer.
Edit - no, my bad. You just need to close out your browser and restart that, then it can check your java version. No need to reboot the whole PC.
By the way, I am a little disappointed at the new Store set today. I think the kid's items are really cute and I like the build items but a lot of the clothes and hair - I don't think so, especially if it's enabled for random everyday. Anyway, almost everything looks well done but it's just a remake of something we already have in the game, and the PC items doesn't really make any sense. They should have included a carnival-themed item. I've never been to a carnival that had a chocolat fountain.
I only have one pic to post - I sent my sim to a garden lot that I placed in the Beta 2 version of Suburban Springs and she ran into this EA generated sim. I think I must have been playing with Twallan's slider multipliers again.
She's so top heavy that it looks like a light breeze would topple her over.

Rukaya -
These are the updates that
came up om July 17th on my
machine this week so far:
Adobe Air
CC cleaner
jre-7u5-windows-x64 (this
was the java one)
Google Chrome
File Hippo update checker
Malwarebytes
Winrar
Today-
JUly 19 Origin update
Version 9.0.0.
I can tell you for a fact that opening and closing my browser did not tell me I needed an update, but my update applicator which even needed updating, did tell me all these updates were ready and needed to be doing.
Speaking of automatic updates if any of you have had any weird occurrences since Windows update back in June - there is a security update that is responsible for some wookiness from Windows if any of you have an FX type sound system in your machine and probably should be uninstalled.

WR, I didn't mean to suggest that just opening and closing your browser would tell anyone if they needed a java update. What I meant was that if you recently updated java then you needed to close and re-open before using the automated java version checker on the java website.
I never enable automatic updates. I'm not letting anything on my computer that I don't give permission to be there.
