I don't really feel like continuing this. I shouldn't have brought it up. That's all. I am not going to change your view nor are you going to mine.
Your tone was unnecessary Jarsie9. But whatever, if you really want to continue this, feel free to continue on my page. Besides, where is the problem if almost everyone here disagrees with religion in TS3 anyway.

Excuse me for 'hijacking this thread.'

One last thing, thanks for being concerned about my life Jars, you shouldn't have though.

On topic I guess; There are a lot of references to Greek and Egyptian mythology. What if that was their faith. If they believe in the Greek and Egyptian gods?

That is not what he said, or even remotely meant. He was pointing out things that are actually said in the Bible, and how people used to use them to justify their prejudices and the discrimination against other groups in the past. His point was how the Christians who happen to be homophobic should move on from doing this with homosexuals.

His script changed a bit as a result of people walking out (which actually looked too much like a planned walk-out, since they walked out before anything remotely offensive was said), and I fully understand his frustration. His argument is actually one I made all of the time back when I was a Christian, and I'll still make it today.

Anyway, I think I understand DarkGamer's point. If there was ANY chance that adding religion into the game would all of the sudden turn homosexuals into 'sinners' in the game, or even in any way exclude them from being treated as the perfectly normal Sims they are currently in the game, then I don't want the feature added into the game. Period. The majority of ideas people want added into the game, I'll think "Well... I just won't buy it, no issue." but this is on an entirely different level.

There is NOTHING wrong with homosexuality, and I can not even begin to tell you how happy I am that a company like EA has acknowledged this and has made homosexuality just a normal thing in The Sims series.

It's so nice that in The Sims series different people are treated normal. It doesn't matter their race, their sex, their sexual orientation, the way they dress, etc. - they're treated normally. It's a nice escape from the real world where prejudice is everywhere. The Sims should never ever change in this regard. It's a nice message.

The Sims 3 needs a WIND INSTRUMENT.

The lack of them is UNFAIR.

1. i asked for no arguments on my thread
2. darkgamer took nothing and made it into something. noone made reference to homosexuals or sinners in the game and he chose to think that by talking about religion meant that EA would be promoting gay bashing in the game
3. he has actually lef the convo and apologies for hijacking it...so why are you brining the issue back to life?

like i said its just a game people , im more interested in hearing peoples ideas of ways to incorporate churches and religion into the game or a better way to make sims diverse and more indepth....

I understand why some people would feel that EA shouldnt add religion into The Sims 3 because of all the controversy in real life. But seriously, A. people need to get over it and realize this is just a game and B. with all the Llama stuff they could make a friggin Church of the Llama!Religion would be a great add on.

Yeah, and what if our old Nordic mythology was? (I am Danish). Think about it: when they die, we have a party, because they will leave for Valhalla for eternal parties up yonder. No Grim Reaper, only lovely ladies in long skirts who are carying them away with song and dance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valhalla

I don't think that religion is a good addition. Maybe a fake religion as part of a set, but I don't think they could make an entire expansion on it.

The "it's just a game" argument works both ways.

"It's just a game. It doesn't need religion."

Yes, it works both ways, but that doesn't explain that all gamers are playing in different ways. I for one don't want to play with super natural beings like vampires, living ghosts, zombies, werewolves, aliens, Grim Reaper and so forth and so on. Well, I can sort out and get passed most of it by not installing Late Night, but I can't get rid of it all, because then I have no game!! I think that the OP just meant that it would be nice to have the choice.

1. my name is not frankie

2. i have no problem with people disagreeing with me, what i dont like is when people are having a civil conversation and come along and turn it into drama.

and most importantly as i created the thread i dont want my perfectly civil before this all started thread to get banned. instead i would like it to return to the original merry banter

thankyou, this was exactly what i meant.

when i say its just a game i mean theres no need to fly off the deep end and get upset when someone says what they would like in the game

me? i hate social features but hey im stuck with them. there is 0 point arguing over a game

^^ hats what id actually prefer s fake sim religion, i mean their fake people in a fake world so lets have a fake religion. someone said they would like to be their sims god, which i suppose is a way to make a religion without offending people.

wouldnt want an entire expansion pack on it though. much prefer university or seasons even magic
