I want to know more about sub neighbourhoods!
It would have been nice if there was subhoods in Sims 3, but I do not see that happening in Sims 3. If they is to be a Sims 4, it might happen there.

Sorry, no Bob Ross hairstyle
Disappointing. Can you talk to the '70s, '80s and '90s Stuff pack folks about possibly getting it included there?
"Also let me just say that I appreciate the desire for more toddler content, or more content across some of the other age ranges. I know it's something that's important to the dedicated Sims community, and we'll continue to try and slip in content for them where it reasonably makes sense to. I was really happy to get a selection of new clothing for toddlers to wear to stay warm in Seasons. If we look at Sims players as a whole though, the adult ages are generally more desirable for the majority of players, so they tend to be the main focus."
I appreciate your response, truly, but I have to ask this follow-up question - has it occurred to you that maybe toddlers and children aren't as "desirable," as you called it, because there isn't enough for them to do? From the get go, there have been some very poor decisions made with these ages, from the absence of being able to bathe babies and toddlers as we could in the Sims 2 to toddlers not even being able to click on another Sim and get their attention. Remember when toddlers used to play in the toilet when you left them alone for five minutes in Sims 2? Now you can't get them to stop hugging their imaginary friend doll even in a room full of other toys.
Children haven't fared much better - they can't learn to play a piano, or any instrument, for that matter? They can't learn to ride horses? I am sure we can all name children we know or have known that took piano lessons and/or riding lessons.
And you talked about including features for these ages where it "makes sense." Well, doesn't it make sense to be able to have toddlers react to and interact with snow? Leaf piles? Or puddles? Real life toddlers explore their world, get into everything, and make new discoveries because they are learning. This is the age group where they are first introduced to just about anything and everything, and that should include snow. Didn't Sims 2 Seasons have toddlers eating snow? Or am I remembering that wrong.
I'm sorry and I don't mean to be rude, but ultimately if they're not popular to play, as you seem to think, isn't that kind of the Sims 3 team's fault?
And you could so easily fix that. These forums are full of many, many ideas to make toddlers and children more interesting and fun to play with. I don't think we're as much in the minority as you seem to think we are.

Graham I have a question about the skating rink. Can couples hold hands while skating or can they do the twirl like they could in the sims 2?

Hey all, one more round of answers! If there are some questions I didn't get to it's because I can really only speak to Seasons right now, and there are still certain topics that we aren't fully revealing yet
Xander_Chaos wrote:So for clothing with the sim you said there would be outerwear to protect the sims from the harsh weather. Does this mean we can layer clothes? Or will it just be another tab like swimwear, formalwear, sleepwear, etc.?
Just wondering, as well, I remember hearing earlier about sickness coming with seasons. Can you die from this sickness or is it just a temporary cold?
Outerwear is a brand new clothing category, with new clothing options you can select within it. It isn't layered over existing clothing... something like layering just wouldn't work as you'd see clothes clipping through each other, and it would have a significant performance hit within the game.
While there are a number of new deaths in Seasons, sickness isn't one of the things that will cause a Sim to die. It's a little more benign like a cold, as you mentioned

I know there are a few "older" simmers out there who would love the 60's added to that stuff pack...c'mon, flower power, mini skirts, paisley prints, white lace up knee boots, mop top hair on boys, beehives on girls...please please is it too late to add 60's in..???
BIG ONE...Will an "Australian inspired" world ever be considered..?
That fun one is a first thought, but the next stuff pack is locked into the 70s, 80s, and 90s Perhaps if people respond well to it and want more content, additional decades are something that the Sims 3 Store team might look into?
As for an Australian world, there's no reason it couldn't happen someday. It does sound like it'd make for a fun setting! I was really happy to see Monte Vista announced, as I'd love to see more worlds created based on international settings.

stormwench wrote:will aliens be added to demographics in the same way that occult are and can be turn off?
Aliens don't actually live in your world, so they aren't part of story progression that gives you options to turn some of the other special creatures off. If you don't engage in activities that draw their attention, then it'll be pretty rare that your Sims will have any personal contact with the aliens.
Trouble1122 wrote:I was wondering, will the option to call in sick be back since illness(colds and allergies) are coming back?
BlueMarril wrote:I don't know if anyone else asked this, but you know that with the Hayfever/ Cold symptoms that come with Seasons ( or is it just the hayfever?) will the adults or children be able to call off of work/ school sick like they could in the Sims 2?
Oh! and in regards to the Slow Dances, will it be bringing back the interaction for kids to dance on their parents feet?
Yes it will! You can call in sick to work, or keep your children home sick from school. You can even fake calling in sick to work, just don't let your boss catch you around town
As for slow dancing, in Seasons it's a romantic dance between Sims aged teen and older.
Bel008 wrote:Will there be any new harvestables such as strawberries or raspberries? Will toddlers have any interactions with the weather? Will they be able to splash in puddles or play in piles of leaves? Is there going to be a compost bin? Thanks.
Pumpkins are the new harvestable coming with Seasons, they allow you to make pumpkin pie - yum!
Sadly no specific new interactions for the toddlers, but they will have their own outerwear so you can expect new clothes and hats.
There isn't a compost bin; you can dispose of the big leaf piles by either throwing them in the trash or burning them.
Pulversoppa wrote:
Will there every be a way to adjust the curfew? It makes no sense over here where I live to have compulsory yellings and shooing home young people.
And about main focus landing on adult sims, the interest might hover around them because we don't have much (different) content/features for the toddlers etc, so it might be sort of a circle....
DarrellRBeebe wrote:

There aren't any plans I'm aware of to adjust the curfew. Considering that's something that came with base game I'm not sure what sort of decisions went into it. There is some special stuff done for the children on Spooky Day which we'll talk more about soon.
Speaking to the point about toddlers (or other ages) - yes, I would come to the same conclusion if I simply asked someone now what ages they enjoy playing in the Sims. A lot of the time we run focus tests and surveys (sometimes they even make their way to this forum) asking about various things we could potentially bring to the Sims in the future to gauge levels of interest from a wide variety of people across the world. Despite our personal interests, it can become difficult to push for content that we routinely get low feedback scores on. I really do sympathize with those who want more content for those younger ages, and we do try and add things when we're able to.
Diamondkool wrote:Will there be sub neighbourhoods in The Sims 3? Also please turn on subtitles and captions because I'm deaf!
Sorry, not ignoring - just really only taking questions on Seasons in this thread. The subtitles suggestion raises a really good point that I'll pass along to the people who manage the broadcasts. I have no idea how that's typically handled or if it'd even be feasible for the tech we use to do live broadcasts, but it's certainly understandable.
catloverplayer wrote:Graham I have a question about the skating rink. Can couples hold hands while skating or can they do the twirl like they could in the sims 2?
They won't hold hands while skating around the rink together, but they can do twirls and spins together in the center of the rink!

BIG ONE...Will an "Australian inspired" world ever be considered..? I would love lots of different Eucalyptus trees including Snow Gums, the WA Peppermint tree, Grevillea, Bottle Brush, Wattles and Paper Barks added. Then there is the Sydney Harbour Bridge with Lunar Park (scenic park), the Opera House (theatre rabbit hole), Canberra's Parliament House (business rabbit hole), Australian War Memorial (museum/art gallery) along with Uluru (large park) to visit. With items like backyard clothes rotary hoists (Sims could could swing on them) or pack an "Esky" for a picnic, using a fire to make Billy tea and Damper. They would mow their lawns wearing Akubras, or dress in Driza-Bone in the rain. They would also wear Ugg boots, blue singlets, footy shorts and thongs on their day off. Not to mention the animals there could be...
I am sure many around the world would love a chance to experience Australia, as I kinda visit the USA in Sunset Valley or other countries when my Sim visits the worlds in World Adventures. Playing Sims takes me to (can't wait for snow in Seasons) where I will never visit myself..!
If they make an Aussie world they HAVE to make an New Zealand one. New Zealand was one of the last ever inhabited places on earth so we have LOADS of native plants and animals (Kowhia tree, Kiwi bird, Kaka Beak tree, Kea bird, Kaka bird, Pohutakawa tree (only have flowers in Summer), and a ton more). Also we have the bee hive parliament building (city hall), Taupo lake (A scenic lake that was created by a volcano and is actually in the crater of the dormant volcano itself), loads of beaches and scenic routes/bush walks. Gumboots/wellies (Wellington boots), Stubbies (Short shorts for guys,) league shorts, Black singlets, rugby jersies, Aussie rivalry XD, PAVLOVA? (even thought it's a food created by NZders and it wouldn't make sense), The Cake Tin (A rugby stadium that could be a sports stadium), Te Papa (A museum), don't even get me started on the south island or anything else to do with rugby. We won the RWC (rugby world cup) last year and everyone here can't get enough of rugby. Not saying this needs to be answered in any way. Just pointing stuff out.

Thank you for answering my questions. I'm really excited about that photobooth as I've been wanting a way for family pictures to be made and also I'm glad to see the twirl be coming back. That was one of my favorite skate interactions in the sims 2.

This is somewhat unrelated to the previous posts, but there's one thing I'm curious about: I suppose the tanning works by altering the slider value for the skin tone. If that's the case I'm wondering if
a) the tan will be inherited by genetic offspring
and b) custom skins will be affected
I didn't keep track of all the questions, so don't mind me if this has already been answered . Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the answers again! I hope there'll be a future change to the curfew within some patch or something. Perhaps if it'd be rating that made it happen to start with, if you verify your age you could get some sort of patch to remove it sometime in the future? -hoping hard- Either way, the special rules for Spooky Day seems exciting. Perhaps I'll have autumn only set to 3 days to trigger Spooky Day almost all the time? Can't wait for when info on that comes...
