I know this may start to sound a little redundant, but I couldn't find a thread that solved my problem. So, I got the game when it was first released, & downloaded Riverview. Well.. I tried to. When I clicked "Download" or whatever on the website, then confirmed, it brought up my launcher and showed the little purple arrow in the status column, meaning it was downloading the content. After a few minutes that arrow changed to a red circle with a line through it, and a message popped up saying There was an error installing custom content, or something along the lines. I didn't think it would work, but I tried installing it anyway. It had the progress bar at 100%, then came to a new window that said:
Riverview.Sims3Pack: Failed
Done!
Okay... so it didn't download or install. I figured, hey, the game just came out, there are probably a few bugs that need to be worked out, and super full servers. So I decided to wait for an update to come out because that's usually what fixes things on my Mac, lol. Fast forward to now, after I've updated everything, and Riverview is STILL doing the same thing! Is anyone else still having this issue?? It's starting to get annoying, and I don't know how to fix it! I've tried doing everything that everyone else has suggested for other problems. I've tried downloading it with the launcher open & closed, and that didn't make a difference. If it matters, I'm using Safari & the size shows up as 92.7 MB. Help, please!!

Not a problem.
Open a browser, sign in to Sims 3 site.
Make sure all of your games are CLOSED.
Now try again through the download page here on the Sims 3.
That worked for me.

Err, I tried that earlier & it wouldn't work. I tried it while the game was running, I tried it while only the launcher was open, and I tried it when everything was closed and no luck. This is frustrating!

I've got the same problem. Might be a mac thing?
Have you tried Emailing them? On the help page under Support Links. I would myself, but I have a second problem with my account (it for some reason refuses to recognize my password or email me my password on that specific page), which I haven't been able to figure out either . . . oh ea.

Thanks for the advice; I think I will email Support. & I'm sorry about your issue. I know I had trouble with it at first, because I was trying to log in with my Sims 3 account, when it actually wanted my EA account, which I must have created back with the Sims 2 a few years ago. I couldn't remember mine, so I just had it sent to my email. You may have used a different email to register (?) If I were you, I would click "forgot screenname" and try any email account you may have used to register with EA, because it's a different account than the one you would use on here. Hope this helps!! Maybe if we're both able to contact Support, one of us can get an answer to fix it?

No, sorry, I didn't get it to work. (still looking for more ideas! lol) I emailed support and got a reply that was copied and pasted from the FAQ Help page thing, and it was for Windows with Internet Explorer, which was no help at all. (hello, using a Mac with Safari here! ) Anyways, I took a survey they sent me to improve the Help section, so hopefully that will make a difference, and we'll be able to finally fix our issues! Tell me if you're able to make anything work!
