Hey everyone.
Welcome to this tutorial, where you will learn how to create angled arched bridges.
This tutorial is very easy, as well as detailed, which makes it perfect for beginners.
Hope you all enjoy this tutorial, and find it good. Now let’s start shall we?
Okay, first you should be in a lot, and as you can see I am in one.
Now, go to the terrain tools section, and click “Flatten Lot” option as shown above.
This is a really important step, as it will avoid problems while making the bridge.
The reason is that the lots are not actually leveled as they seem, so performing this step before making any lot, not only the bridge, would make it easier to build houses.
Okay, next step, put the main foundations. For this one you will need a foundation size of 2x1, and you should place one vertically, and one horizontally, with a space difference of 3 squares.
The result should look like the above picture.
So as I mentioned before a space of 3 squares between those 2 foundations.
And a space of 4 in the back side, as I added an extra square on the other ends of the bridge design.
Now, let’s design the bridge. Surround the bridge you want to design by foundations. Like above.
Here is the result.
Why did I do this, is to be able to put floors, and fences without having them removed.
Now apply what you want for your bridge from flooring, fencing and stairs also.
TIP: Its better you do not use tiles and mosaic for this type of bridges, as they will show that the bridge looks lumpy.
Okay, now delete those surrounding foundations, not the foundations of the bridge itself.
Notice: Delete the foundations in the way you applied them, if you just drag and delete, you might also delete the floors as well.
Here is the result.
Now go back again to the fences section, and select any short fence. I selected the one shown above, as I find it convenient and very easy to be seen.
Now under the bridge, apply those fences, so that to line the design.
The result should look like this. This step is pretty useful, as it will make it easier for you to work rather than going up and down to ensure that what you are doing is being applied.
Notice: These fences will get deleted.
It’s time for the tricks work. So, open the cheat box by clicking the combination “Ctrl+Shift+C” and type the cheat:
constrainFloorElevation false
As shown above.
Then go back again to terrain tools section. Select the “Raise Terrain” option, and set the terrain shape to a square.
Now start rising. One click for all over the ground specifically under the bridge.( if you want to know specifically the space I raised, see page )
Warning: Do not use the leveler to quickly raise the ground.
Continue warning: As if you use it like this.
Continue warning: This will be the result.
Back to our work. So now I raised the terrain under the bridge, if you want to know the space I raised.
I raised a 5x5 square.
Here, as shown it’s a 5x5 square, colored with red, so no need to raise the full ground.
So this is the first rising level, now the next rising level is same is the first one, except that we will only raise a space of 4x4 squares under the bridge, and only by one click for each space in that square.
Here is the result.
It’s colored in here so that you can clearly see how much space I raised.
Go up, and see your bridge. As you can see in the picture, a floor might get over raised.
So to level that, use the “Level Terrain” in the terrain tools section.
Apply that as shown earlier.
And here is the result. It’s leveled, and also useable.
Now delete the flooring applied under the bridge.
And delete those white fences.
Open cheat box “Ctrl+Shift+C” and type the cheat:
constrainFloorElevation true
Then back to the terrain tools section, and select the “Level Terrain” tool.
And level the ground from under the bridge.
So the ground will be leveled as shown.
And congratulations you just made an angled arched bridge.
And to make it look prettier. Apply water from under, and surround it with some shrubs and flowers.
And here it is.
TIP: When you get your Sim to go to the other side of the bridge, they will not cross it unless you tell them to “Go Here” on the bridge and then let them “Go Here” on the other side.
Hope you all enjoyed this tutorial.
And found it useful.
