Next expansion pack?

Does anyone know what the next expansion pack might be? I'd love for it to be University, that and Pets were my favorites.

I would love a shopping expansion pack, where you can browse, buy clothes, jewellery, furniture and games, then see your sim eat and drink in the cafe or when sim has got engaged go looking for a wedding dress, I miss watching my sims shop, it helped them to make friends.

Well if that's the case I'll take universities,vacations ep,a dating ep and maybe a carnival one unless they include carnivals in seasons or a vacation ep.

Honestly I feel that the devs of TS3 have been throwing us curveballs since the first expansion pack (that can be a good or bad thing, depending on how you look at it). I don't think any of us will be able to guess at what is coming next, although most of us feel pretty certain that Seasons/Weather is in the works. Personally, I would love to see an EP similar to TS2 Freetime, where hobbies are the main focus for your sims.

Yes I can see what you mean. So many freetime things were left out of generations. Children still can't group or play musical instruments and they're were a lot of interaction and activities for families in freetime that we didn't get in generations.

I really enjoyed that ep.

Yes I can see what you mean. So many freetime things were left out of generations. Children still can't group or play musical instruments and they're were a lot of interaction and activities for families in freetime that we didn't get in generations.

I agree. The lack of what children can do in this game is FRUSTRATING. It makes them so unenjoyable to play.

My Sim knows the Martial Arts skill and wanted to spar with someone. I thought it would be perfect if he sparred with his son, because his son was born with the Disciplined trait. But I had to wait until the son was a freaking teen before I could having him use the training dummy to even learn the skill.

Hmm, now that I think about it, I guess I could have had him read a skill book. But then again, I highly doubt that children can spar, so moot point.

I really liked Freetime cause with the sewing machine & pottery wheel you could make things to sell in my all time favorite: Open For Business.

I loved being able to open a store on my home lot and sell things I made.
It would be fun for Sims 3 to be able to breed animals & sell them at our own Pet Stores or open a Farm Stand for all the garden vegetables my Sims grow. A nice addition would be to grow flowers & plants to sell.

My Sims spend so much time discovering potions or making items at the bench, that I'd like to sell them too.

It would also be nice to be able to expand on the kids baking items on the play stove to adults. Opening a bakery would be fun.

I find that since my Sims have limited things to do, I get bored quickly. I spend more time in World Adventures because I can actually get them to discover & do things.
Wouldn't it be fun to make wine and then sell it? Or the 'treasures' we find on vacation could be sold in our own Antique Store?

So before Seasons (that I loved), I'd rather have something like Open For Business.

Personally with the addition of World Adventures, and Late Night, I would dearly love vacations.
Of course, these rich and famous sim celebrities would want to go somewhere fabulous to unwind a little. World Adventures is great, but it isn't a vacation. Hmm...a vacation to Paris would be lovely : )

Oh, I'd like to add that I think if we get a vacation EP then perhaps they could adjust the needs while gone. I hate that I barely have time to DO anything, because I'm so busy fulfilling basic, boring needs!

I really REALLY wish they would make weather the next one after showtimes, but I have a few ideas of to what they are doing.

1. I think they are holding it off until the end of the series because it is the hardest to do. If you all don't remember how the sims 2 glitched a little when it would snow and accumulated on the ground. Also, the sims 2 dealt with only one household, not the whole world. So if it is snowing where you live, it will be snowing everywhere at the same time. From my eyes, it will take way more work to do weather, and that is the reason they have not put it out yet. To be honest, I like that they are working it all out and not pushing it out like they did with medieval.

2. I think they are releasing little by little of weather in each update and expansion pack. If you are up to date with all your expansion packs you would notice that the sky doesn't look the same every day; sometimes its sunny, sometimes it cloudy. All that is missing is the actual effects like snow, rain, thunder, etc.

But I believe when they do get it all out it will be something we would never guess. Hell they mind even have hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if the name of the expansion pack had to do something with "natural disaster".

If it's Seasons I hope it will be called Sims 3 Seasons In The Sun. Potentially if the next ep is Seasons we may be getting a Holiday Stuff Pack as well. Hint EA Hint.

I really don't know what the next one will be but the ides you're all throwing around are great.

Clearly World Adventures is not a vacation EP. I'd gladly buy one, actually. I want my sims to be able to chillax and not get torched and all that.

Shopping would be good but these stupid rabbit holes already have that. I'd enjoy a Hot Date kind of EP though, where you can shop and date and have dinner, none of this stupid rabbit hole stuff.

Free Time would be good too but I don't need hobbies as much as activities, and stuff to do. I think Free Time was a bit serious and it felt like hobbies were too similar to jobs.

I'm looking forward to a magic EP as well, I'll never forget Makin' Magic, hell, I just played this week and it has such a style, such a feeling to it. If they did something similar in TS3, that would be great!

Well they announcrd Showtime 2 months after Pets was out, so we should probably get the name of the next EP somewhere in mid April/early May.

I agree with you on this, I am really hoping for Open for Business. People say Ambitions was their new take on Open for Business, but I honestly think they're nothing alike. I loved running my own business, it was what made TS2 so much fun for me. I find myself taking large breaks from TS3 due to me getting bored of it.

id really love for it to be seasons or university because i loved seasons and i never had university but wnated it sooo much.Id also likeopen for buisness but i think they wont do it because of the "similarity" with ambitions but then again isnt showtime "similar" to late night? Im really hoping for any of those and maby hot date 2 but we already got a taste of it in generations though it was nothing like it

Would it be possible for Seasons to have Freetime, Bon Voyage and possibly Open for business features in it (not necessarily all of them)?

I mean, a lot of hobbies would work well with different seasons, Open for Business I could see fitting in there and Bon Voyage is a no-brainer in terms of weather/activities

And [i]PLEASE EA[/i], finally let us swim in the lake/ocean!

it is sapposed to be showtime but if you are refering to after idk. but i do know what ever it is i wouldnt expect it to be exactly like the sims two. like the name and some of the options(except sims pets name) but eventually i think that all of the main optionas and some extra will come out. then once all us sims 3 simmers have every expansion and stuff pack(which i will probably be one) they will have sims 4 and we will look at our collection and be like "oh pickles" then start ooooohing and aaaahing over sims 4 and how it will be but im having fun(and rambling) . . . . .ok bye

I would like to see what everyone else seems to be after - Seasons and University. As to beyond that... if they do a vacation-style EP, I think it'd be cool if they had the following destinations - Coral reef (diving, snorkelling, sports fishing, beach camping), Alpine (skiing in snow, Camping in forest), sierra (big game hunting) and maybe a destination that is purely for the tourist experience - arts, shows, shopping, cuisine etc. I'd like to see a world adventures part 2 come out also where you could explore a tropical jungle, maybe explore the greek and/or roman ruins also. Finally, one I'd really like to see (and something a lot of you would likely go - wow, never thought of that one) - a Transport themed EP that links all of the different towns together via bus and train. You could different jobs out of this one - Taxi Driver, Bus Driver, Train driver,train conductor, ticket inspector, mechanic. The chances of that happening, though? who knows.

I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't want Seasons. My computer is better than the basic requirements but my ram is just enough to run the game. Seasons for Sims 2 was big enough to make my game unplayable until I upgraded my computer.

Personally, I'd love to see something new.. similar to what we have seen before in Sims 2 but still different

The sims 3 team on twitter said that ambitions is the sims 3 vision of sims 2 ofb but it just not the same as having a business on your home lot

If the next ep includes all of that AND weather, then I will be very happy.
Even if it doesn't have weather it still sounds awesome.

Give us weather, EA. I refuse to dress my sims in sweaters or coats. They look too goofy running around on green grass and in the hot sun with a big, fur collar coat on.

The next pack after Showtime is probably going to be a'Stuff Pack' - wonder what that will be? For the next actual Expansion Pack, however, top of my list is Universities. Apart from all the really cool stuff they had in TS2 and going to classes (I loved the names of those classes!) and getting degrees etc, I really miss having that 'in between' stage from teen to adult.

I know we have the young adult stage at the moment, but to me that seems to equate with ages 25 - 40. I hope that in a University EP, there'd be another life stage between teen and young adult; they could call it 'late teen', or just not name the stage at all.

I agree with all you guys - I really like Seasons / Weather too; but I just can't wait for University!

Even though I have bought all previous expansions none have really interested me or made me play for more than a couple of days on each expansion.. even showtime didn't even get a full day of me playing it.

I really really want an Open for Business expansion pack, was so much to do and this being sims 3 I hope they add in loads of new options. If not I'd be happy with Seasons as well.

I'm really hoping for a magic ep. You know, not just genies or magicians, but faeries, werewolves, zombies, potion makers-everything! I miss in the old games with werewolves and zombies, I found that was half the fun. I was a little upset when they didn't include more supernatural in some of the newer ep, so that's what I'm looking forward to.

- Open for Business (own stores, employees, clothing boutiques, shopping bags *-*)
- Vacations (france, china, egypt are .. stressful <.<
- dating stuff, sitting in restaurants etc.

in my opinion, seasons was THE best expansion for sims, period. Honesty, since adventures, i have been unimpressed by the sims 3 expansion packs. . besides being able to customize everything and have bigger *****, what has been significantly new since its release? As someone who has been playing sims from the beginning i am sad to say i am getting bored.

I agree Iam getting bored of the game. I to miss Seasons, University and even Open for business. i was not a major fan of Open for business but think with all the different professions would open thinks up for new possibilities.

I really do miss dating, the gypsy lady and the whole expansion around that. I have so much more time to play the game now and cannot even rebothered !!

I really want a restraunt and shopping EP. But I want them to be OPENED so we can see our sims in! NOT the closed ones where you can't see your sims in! OPENED RESTRAUNTS AND SHOPS THAT YOU CAN SEE YOUR SIMS IN I WANT! Like Opened for business!!!

Well now with the Supernatural and the Seasons coming out we have lots more to work with but i just wish they would get back to the basics a bit more have more stuff to do on a date make meeting dating and getting married more than a one simulated day thing, make it more of a challenge. I've been playing a long time and really only world adventures and ambitions really got my attention. I just wish they would stop trying to sell us premium content on the side and put they're stuff towards they're games. Instead of trying to get me to spend more money than i already have on this franchise. Starting to get old.

Sorry for commenting so late but...

If your asking what the next expansion pack could be, I'd go with one where you can go on vacation. Maybe to a tropical resort or on a cruise ship. A dating one would be cool too but it seems useless because there is online dating on The Sims now. Maybe a Live Life to the Fullest pack, where kids could be like in a band or part of a group, you could have Sweet 16 party, and tons of awesome stuff. Just to add on to the things you get bored of on the Sims.
