I knew it, a patch release this fast will cover only a small portion of the current problems out there. But good nonetheless.

I can at least have a comfortable thought that they fixed the CC seeping through the hosts game issue even though I still have no plans on playing Simport on a full throttle.

Did anyone get the update? I just updated and now it's saying that the game disc can't be found and the launcher closes by itself...I was playing Showtime all morning and everything was fine but now the update messed things up somehow...I never use or install custom content either

Um how about the kink of hosting sims and getting CC. When I posted that I had only went and played a few minutes, if I recall, that was Tuesday, it's now Thursday. Are you like having a bad day? Don't take your issues out on me, I don't know you, and really don't want to....

I haven't installed Showtime yet, just have the patch. I opened the game just now and tried to log in but got a pop-up saying I couldn't access the network without installing the latest update. Seems like they're blocking us out until we patch? Or else my game's really messed up. I wanted to wait since I'm not simporting yet and don't want to do without Twallan's mods even for one night

Well looks like this patch really did cater to simport, it did say so after all, because i still have the same issues with my game as I did before. fick them. Thanx for nothing Sims 3 tech ppl. Feel like I wasted $40. I have little hope that another patch will be released anytime soon.

I guess it was smart to actually WAIT... Now run along and argue with someone else. I come to this board for information. And to share my experience with my game. I suspect that may be what happened to me too (wasn't sure what Norton was trying to tell me in the corner of the screen but I think it deleted my game...)

Well I tried to update the game and it failed miserably. Norton automatically removed one of the files because with a high certainty it was acting suspiciously. Then the game would not start and I ended up uninstalling Showtime. Now I'm wondering what to do. I'm going to try to re-install but not the latest update.

I'm not familiar with Norton (I use Avast) so this might be a stupid question, but is it possible that Norton moved the file to some sort of quarantined area? If so, you could restore it.

I had this happen to me too, I just restored it from quarantine and now it launches again

Check your virus chest, the file might be in there.

Screeching...Just disable it hun, while you update the game. PS, have you tried using AVG? It's free and works well and doesn't use up so much memory.

You can just disable Norton while you install. Make sure to restart your comp though .

Remember to re-enable it once you are done installiung the patch though. I would suggest using something other than Norton for anti-virus like AVG which is free. Especially if you didn't pay for Norton and are just using the trial or "free" version.

Keepinitreal, try what I told you hun...digging through the anti-virus is just a pain. Just disable it, install the patch and re-enable...then you're good to go. I had to do this with mine as well.

If you decide to drop Norton for another antivirus program, make sure you use Norton's uninstall utility. It clears out every last trace of Norton. If you try to uninstall without it, you won't get it all and even a small remnant left behind will most likely cause havoc when a new AV is installed. Just an fyi That goes for uninstalling most any antivirus program. Most of them have uninstall utilities available.

So I just updated Avast to the latest version which must have just been released because I am usually on top of it and everything is fine again. I had silent gaming mode enabled so maybe it was blocking the launcher from working and not telling me that it was b/c I had this enabled? What the heck lol

eilian, well said . Def make sure it is COMPLETELY uninstalled first, but it will usually walk you through that.

You don't have to uninstall it if you don't want to though guys. You can just disable it for a few seconds to install the patch and re-enable it. Always remember to re-enable it though

Thanks And thanks for the clarification with regards to not needing to uninstall just to update the game. Yikes, I wouldn't want anybody thinking that's what I meant! Definitely just disable for now, I was only referring to any future decision to switch AV's.

The game will not let me log in and play until I download this patch, but the game will also not let me download this patch. It keeps saying my game is up to date, but then when I try to play it tells me that I need to update. It was working fine earlier and all day until this.

Exactly I have a much better antivirus ware than Norton so I'm not really worried. Just waiting for my mods to be updated.

Sorry just coming back to comment. I tried to find the patch links for Macs (if there is one) but I haven't. However, if there are I'm sure Nichaedemus would know. They are usually on a different server name. I would ask in Technical.

As for the Norton, I would say it's probably due to settings but I'm not a fan of Norton aka Symantec, so it's usually the first thing I remove on any of my computers/laptops even if it's free.

I think some test to check the passing of CC with the new patch is in order, just like before. That was some quick coding and I bet the Exchange is still being used. Just my opinion though.

ETA: [i]Just to add...[/i] I still can't believe some forgot to remove their mods even after I posted it.

It hasn't blocked anything for TS3 that I know about (or on my computer).. until the social stuff. Just makes me wonder, is all.

Anti-viruses are touchy sometimes.

As for Norton not being the best, that's probably true but it isn't the worse. I'm happy with it. It rarely throws this at me for anything and never has with the sims which is why I found it odd. But I just released it from quarantine so it isn't a big deal.

i just hosted a sim...nothing in my downloads folder and nothing in my saved sims folder...my files in the Dccache folder appear unharmed....

i still have in twallans 1.31 mods for OW...MC....and Relativity...all seems fine for me

You really shouldn't be calling anyone a liar over that, because it IS possible for your game to be fine and then bug out. When I first installed showtime, my game was just fine and I would play for hours on end. Then about two days later, the sound began to glitch and my sims became green-ish, and I also noticed a few other bugs which made the game less enjoyable for me. But nonetheless, I continue to play.

Er, I really wouldn't advise using a free internet security program. AVG also does a paid version, do you really think they're going to give you their best service for free if they do that?

My job is fixing people's comps. I can't count how many times someone has come in with a 'software fault' which I immediately spot as a virus and get 'But I have AVG, I'm protected!' or words to that effect. I think on average I find at least 100 or so virus' on people with free antivirus progs when I do a thorough scan. Use a paid program, I don't care if it's Norton, Kasperksy, Trend, Eset or even Vipre. Free ones are deceptive....you *will* get infected.

You get what you pay for.

I log in at launcher but I don't log in within the game (don't really want simport & all that at the mo) so not sure if that affects anything- I can log in in game if anyone needs confirmation.

So you haven't used Simport? I know I've gotten CC and all, and I'm running on an Air.

^This. My norton kept deleting fps limiter, untill I noted it as safe.
So i'm pretty sure Norton thinks that launcher is trying to delete files that it's not supposed to, or is simply throwing a fit because it is trying to update simport, which is responsible for sending and receiving data for a program.
I wouldn't worry. Antivirous programs can sometimes be ''picky''.

I also agree with the simmer that mentioned that free antivirous programs are not safe enough.
Norton is heavy, and not very user friendly but of all the years i've been using it, nothing ever managed to go through. Not even once. I'm very happy with it, and i've learned to cope with it's grumpiness towards programs that are not widely used.

I logged in via game earlier just to check and I was able to interact with my wall, badges, etc. as normal and I could get into simport and send my sim if I wanted to select someone or host someone elses Sim (I didn't).

I'm on an iMac ( 10.5.8 ) and all is well on my end-got upto update 1.32 (ie. had the 1.31 before I got Showtime and was able to change make up, career clothes, etc. and this afternoon after having Showtime since yesterday did a refresh and had a new update 1.32 and clicked ok (freaking out) but it downloaded as normal). I've been in game playing non-stop for 4hrs all good; as I said above, I checked logging in via in-game and all seemed normal too).

I don't use mods (any/ever) and I've never had any CC in my game. Hope this helps you- if you have any probs let me know and I can check my iMac (I also have a Macbook Pro I sometimes play with) *us Mac folks gotta stick together*

I went to get on sims 3 and i went to update my game and wen it goes to the loading screen it has a pop up sayin "File not found there is a problem with the download service. Please try again later. Error: 7049:404" and idk wat to do i was wonderin if i had to check the button tht says to not play with custom items???

Yep, they made a serious mistake, we have content in our game, that's not supposed to be in it, until the next EP, which is probably Magic. Mod the Sims has a whole forum about it. Yea, I saw the post on SimsVIP, they have a really good one about it, but I had no idea they made that big of a mistake. I have the patch, but I didn't see any of that stuff . I am sure they will issue another one....hopefully they will take a little longer and just release a patch fixing a few of the pets issues too? A girl can wish

I was freaking out lol....I thought "What is wrong now?" And at first no one was talking about it, so I thought I did something wrong, I use CC in my game. But now that I played for a bit, it's kind of pretty, I especially like the multi color skintone ramp. I'm going to try and play with some of the magic items. There's a thread over at Mod the Sims that says, your cauldron, and voodoo doll can do some pretty amazing things now. Don't want to put a spoiler, but yeah. I'm going to see if that's true.

Okay so they added a werewolf snout, brow, and jaw, and you get butterfly wings too. EA made me mad so when I get the time, I'm going to post pics, it's there fault, how do we get sliders, new skintone ramps and basically new occult sims in a patch for EP that's not dued to August sometime. EA really messed up JEESH!!! I wanted to be surprised.

There quality control department should get some discplinary action seriously. NOT fired!! Don't get me wrong, but how do they issue a patch to go worldwide, that has ITEMS from the next EP? That's just sloppy. My real problem with this is, you can't use custom default skins anymore. So I'm thinking that's the reason, XCAS and Master Controller are behaving wonky in people games. They've changed coding, added sliders, occult powers, it's ridiculous. The new stuff doesn't even coincide with the EP just released. So that's just some sloppy work on there part. Or they made an employee mad, and they decided to that.

I would just leave it be for now. I am assuming there will be another patch as the issue with CC passing is still there for those that have/did not update. I would think they'd need to replace what was pulled to provide a fix for that issue for sure.

I'm asking if you go to the program files for whatever your latest EP/SP that's installed, find the (.exe) file for it in the bin folder and run it will the game start? Just like one would normally do to bypass the launcher.

OH, sorry...yeah, I can get into the game either way. My launcher shows me as logged in. But once I get in game, it pops up with a thing that says Network Error and then tells me I need to update to the latest game version to log in in game. I can just bypass it if I don't wanna log on, so I can still play, I just can't log on at all. It's weird.

SO that is going to cause MAJOR problems, my sim has a interaction to ask a sim to be there best friend, and to eat a apple? The patch added not only items, sliders, and new skintone, but interactions? It's not good because the interactions don't do anything, they're just there.

Same here. I was reading on MTS that the "leak" patch was possibly replaced by a *normal* one before it was pulled. I don't have the werewolf sliders or rainbow skin, but even though my game's fine now, I'm paranoid thinking there's a problem somewhere waiting to blow up my game LOL So far so good. I'll just keep my fingers crossed. At least I can sign on.

I posted that in Crinrict's thread that you can still patch via launcher. It does say it is for 1.32 but idk if that is the original or an updated version. If it is an updated version then why is there no manual patch yet.

That's not right, what's the point of having werewolf stuff, if I have no interactions for one? And why the heck are sims asking other sims for apples in the next EP? I don't know whether to be jealous or not... I patched late this afternoon (I live in Washington state) and don't have any of the sliders or skins or snouts etc. Thing only thing odd I found is, when I randomize a sim in CAS/CAH, the height varies from shorter to taller, also the changes were more various than I am used to seeing. Kind of odd, surprised me to see that, but I didn't take the sim into a game to see if it was real, just exited without saving. Other than that, the patch didn't cause me any gaming problems. My mods had already been updated, so when I put them back in, all was normal.

I'm sorry to see so many people have problems. I would have liked to see the makeup problem solved though, since I don't/won't simport ever.

Have not read all but those that used the incremental patch (and launcher should be incremental, so I'm surprised that launcher patching people have the stuff) do not have the extra code. It was the super patcher that was/is messed up.

I used the patch Downloader on my test machine (which does incremental) and I don't have any of it. The super patcher was still available at that point.

Sorry guys I just got caught up in this thread and Crinrict's thread. I absolutely had to get some sleep last night. I still don't have enough information. I did notice the Cumulative Patch / Super Patch thread is now "hidden" in Technical. But there is also a new thread locked in General Discussion by SimGuruRusskii [url=http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/512521.page]here[/url] and at the top of this forum.

After reading that I am still confused. Is it just simmers with digital download of the EP having issues? And why is it some are able to patch via the launcher and some aren't? Then there a those that previously patch that can't login but some can? Some have EP7 content/interaction/CAS stuff, etc. and some only have interactions, some have nothing.

Can you all state whether or not you patched prior to or after the time SGR stated. And also post if you used the super patcher or you patched via the launcher? Can you all reboot your computers/laptops and clear your browser history/cache/temp/cookies/java-runtime specifically in IE, to see "if" you get the option to install the patch via the launcher. There is also an Origin update (Version 8.5.0.4554 - 144681). I still don't have enough information to be honest. Everything I'm seeing posted is conflicting.

I patched my game the first time 2 days ago. Norton didn't like it and ate my launcher. So I uninstalled all of my games and released my launcher from quarantine.

When I installed my games again, yesterday, I only needed to patch once. It brought me up to date. Both times I patched from my launcher.

I can log in, but I have only played a few minutes and have not noticed any new interactions yet.

Ok I think I get it now. Thank you sshaw1 for giving that info that triggered a light bulb to appear above my head.

We have different cases here:

- People that patched through the launcher
- People that patched with the super patch
- People that patched with Patch Downloader
- People that used Incremental Patch.

Now, some of the users that patched did a complete reinstall which means they are NOT patched at all. This probably triggered the launcher to use the super patch. I'm thinking the same would apply for the Patch Downloader and I'll go verify that with Ford in just a sec.

So

Who has the leaked patch ?

- People that used the superpatcher yesterday
- People that reinstalled their game and patched from scratch
- People that have not updated to 1.31 and patched directly to 1.32 (not sure about this one)

Who does not ?

- People that used the incremental patch
- People that patched through the launcher but were already at patch level 1.31

Does that make sense to you guys ?

I don't know if the issues with the dd are related. You can't tell from what russkkii says, I think.

I think you can't login if you are patched to 1.31 but they might have changed that during the time where no patch was available. Cause this message is clearly triggered by something on they changed on the server. They must have a something that triggers the flag to appear.

Fog Emitter for the effects and mouth and nose sliders for the werewolf sliders.

Some say there are also new interactions.

Yesterday it worked fine when I first installed it, but then it started slowing down. Then it started crashing. Now I can barely get in the game before it just quits. It seemed uninstalling and reinstalling pets worked for about 5 minutes. I don't know about you, but I could think of a lot of things I could have done with my $50.

Funny enough I redownloaded all my games onto my laptop and after the base game it offered me the latest patch. So I downloaded that then reinstalled my Pets and everything and it didn't offer me any further patches. I guess I missed out on the others?

I was having that problem last night. I managed to patch through the launcher, but you might have to restart the launcher a couple times and force it to search for an update to get it. It took me about half an hour and several frustrated attempts.

So for first group, what's to be done?
- Uninstall base game (only)
- reinstall
- patch to 1.29 or 1.31 with superpatcher of either of these versions (whichever one you have without having to redownload)
- patch to 1.32 with the incremental patch from the "Current" page of below link (or Launcher if you want)

Well, I uninstalled ddl showtime, and will attempt to reinstall after it re-downloads. If it is still messed up, then I'm just going to uninstall again and wait for a new patch to be released. Hopefully my game will function. I'd rather just play pets than deal with this stress of trying to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it.

I had patched up to 1.31 via the launcher last week? Beginning of the week? Sorry, I forget when it was first released.
Then the other nite I was given Showtime so installed it & then got popped to update to 1.32 via the launcher. Installed it, havent seen any issues with it other than issues with mods, which the maker is aware of.

Have not reinstalled from scratch, but I did not have any cc currently installed & no mods at that time. Also, started a new world from scratch with new made sims.

Okay, now I'm curious -- I was trying to patch from 1.31 to 1.32 yesterday and got an alert: "Some of these files have been modified. Please reinstall!" It's happened before and it's a pain in the you know what. So I uninstalled the games and reinstalled (after pulling out my old Sims 3 folder so I could save my library and saved games) then ran the patch. Game played just as it did before. But now I wonder if I got all the extra stuff in the Super Patch or not; maybe I'll start a new Sim just so I can check...

Normally I would say, use the manual super patcher but now I can't.

Hey Crin, Yeah I did a complete uninstall with all EP's and Sp's and that's how I got a hold of all the EP 7 stuff. So you're saying to do a uninstall of the base game to get rid of the new skin ramps, sliders, effects, and interactions? You also said that since we did it that way, we're not really patched? But before I even patched the game wasn't letting me log in while in game. Now it is. I'm also using MC right now with little problems, although I've been noticing a significant amount of lag, and freezing that patch 1.31 got rid of. If I just uninstall the base game, will my other EP's and Sp's stay patched at the highest patch?

Just wanted to toss you a quick thanks. I've noticed you trying to help people all over this section of the forums. I personally am thankful that someone is offering advice. We're all going nuts here trying to fix this game we just blew money on.

Oh I don't mind getting rid of it, if it's going to cause problems later on. For instance, I use mods and CC. How are the modders going to mod in the future if some us have one patch and the others have another...You get what I'm saying. How will we know which mod is compatible with the "super" patch or the regular patch.

As for your issue: Did you do DEP ? You might want to seek help in technical.

@Diancarock: I don't know either but it seems tuning mods will be fine. Don't now about the CAS ones but the big problem will be skins. That has nothing to do with the modders though.

My launcher won't patch. And am hesitant as I am not sure exactly which patch to hunt down and manually install. I have deluxe disc for base game, and digital download for the showtime ep. The only stuff I don't have yet is Master Suite and Outdoor Living.
Am seriously considering uninstalling everything. And starting from scratch and not updating until showtime finishes the install.

That's what I did just before attempting to do it with the base game.

Funny thing is the base game runs just like base game should. LOL BUT it has the showtime load screen.

I have no idea, my launcher hasn't patched since hmm I think I installed WA. I've been hunting down and installing manual updates since. I did install the launcher update they recommended for people with this problem, and it says new patch available for your game, I click install and it says its installed immediately. But it never actually downloads and installs it. As to why, you got me.

Hmm, so perhaps I should just be patient. LOL It's really hard when my 9 year old is sitting at my old outdated desk top simporting his magician right across the room from me though. And he keeps wanting to send me invites to his game, but I can't even load showtime. Lucky for me, my friend Cbn added him so he's not completely out of luck.

I patched my game to 1.32 yesterday via the launcher.

I had installed the 1.31 patch when it came out and also updated Origin at the same time (that was a week before Showtime came out)

Like I said, yesterday once I had installed Showtime, I was trying to download the special edition content and the "new patch is available" message came up when I started the content download.....I let the game patch...then installed the content.

I dont have any new sliders or skins. My game seems to be funtioning normaly. I have no problems with all the online funtions at all.

Well, the first patch installed successfully. I am downloading the second. Thank you again. As much as I enjoy base game, I wouldn't have all the extra eps, stuffs, and store content if I didn't want to play them also. :P

Successfully installed the second patch you linked me to. Now I'm back to square one. My eps and stuffs are there now though. I have an empty dl's folder but the game still crashes. So I'm waiting for the next update to come out.

Oh and it prompts me to install the store update when I load the launcher. Also as soon as I go into the game and load a house, it crashes after the lot loads. And this is a clean game, no mods or cc or store content.

as blue mentioned, the patch was pulled, so you can't really download it, you can play without it tho, you would have to wait until we release another one.

No, I can't. It crashes as soon as I get into a house. Any house, any family. I know this must be annoying. Is there any estimate as to how long till a manual patch is released? Because I've tried updating via the launcher about 10 times now, and it's just not happening for me.

I know you're going to laugh at my ocd. BUT, I finally just uninstalled all my sims 3 games. My hubby did his magic to clean out the registry and basically the entire pc. Now I started installing all over again from scratch. Interesting tidbit, the first update I got for base game on a fresh launcher with no issues is 1.31.

As there's no Undo Button on a patch, a reinstall is our only choice at the moment. Until EA is done with the new update to replace the 1.32 SuperPatcher, that is. And the replacement would still need some statistics collected before we know if their "solution" really works.

If people are not reinstalling, due to download caps (the deterrent if they don't already have 1.29/1.31 SuperPatcher, I know), it would be interesting to collect statistics, Crin & Blu, for those having issues in CAS and elsewhere, if they are on 1.32 - how did they get there, based on that 2 "Who groups" with the 5 scenarios.

If we don't ask them to reinstall, collecting bugs is kinda confusing as we don't have a baseline to start from. The 1.32 skinramp and sliders would affect any CAS skins and slider caps (the most obvious issues). The less obvious side-effects would still need testing - experimentation and comparisons. I'm also experimenting with hair per outfit not sticking and career outfits, but as I don't have Showtime it is still unclear how the 1.32 affect games with Showtime on my config.

It's like the 100m sprint and swim events. How if a runner/swimmer kicked off early, everything is cancelled and the race is reset and restarted? Well same applies here. If we don't have the same baseline where everyone starts off from (a 1.32 patch that do not have EP7 features in this case) all the statistics are off.

I'm still catching up on reading all the reports, does the SuperPatcher on Macs have the EP7 leaks too or just PC's 1.32 SuperPatcher?

Your all having problems with 1.32 that I'm seeing but I'm having No problems at all it seems its taking longer to load yes while logged into the game .

I can use SimPort, I can use everything as i would do normally wich is really werid cause it updated through my launcher but still looking forward to the 1.33 Update.

I downloaded patch 1.32 and was going to install it Sunday on my day off work when I had more time. So glad I checked this board first so I could avoid big problems. Don't understand why they don't test these things out more throughly before selling the game.

I don't know if this is a old bug or a new ones the Paparazzi that was outside turn into a normal Sim and left and I have not seen one since do the NPC turn back to Paparazzi later? just played the game today after my update

So I just experinced what everyone else is experincing tried going into SimPort and sending out one my Sims and my Entire game frozze up like crazy

I could not unpause my game at all, I could not do anything I tried everything possible and could not get it to unpause.

So no more using SimPort untill the new patch is released

This is whats happing my take below

EA devolps a patch for The Sims 3 Showtime and releases it before testing it to make sure it will work properly

The Sims 3 Players download this patch as we trust EA and find out by using it, it makes our SimPort freeze our entire game

EA relazing they made a big mistake and releasing patch before it was ready and having to re-release a new patch

The Sims 3 Players Praying and Hoping there next patch dosn't screw up our game anymore then it already is

I got stuck in the unpauseable impossiblity for a few moments....It did finally clear.

Blu..like a post on your yourmypage..add a friend and watch how even if they accept, they aren't added....posts from ingame are overwriting each other...etc.

Not like..I didn't see this coming...bwah!

I don't think that is quite all of it. Simport works on a server which sometimes go down for whatever reason. If no one can simport it may have more to do with a server issue than a patch issue. But who really knows.

My SimPort broke last night (about 12 hours ago). It started by me not being able to accept requests, then it went corrupted (graphically) whenever I tried to access it. Then it turned black with yellow letters and froze so i had to restart my game.

I can't accept friend requests any more either. I already had an issue with not being able to access the 'memories' part of my studio, but now I can no longer make changes on my 'friends' list either.

And something quite different: I know I had several people on my friends list who had their accounts removed - but now they all have fresh new account pages with nothing on them. Waste of server space if you ask me.
The reason I mention this is because I suspect it might be server-related issues as well as patch-related ones.

Started a few hours ago for me but that's because I was out all day with my parent's and wasn't home when they released 1.32 but then when i got home i got the update and did it then it happend

SimPort won't work still but now for me at least it's not frezzing my entire game like it was

And I wonder if I'll have to uninstall and reinstall my game like I did with the 1.32 patch I installed before they pulled it. I'm leery about sending any of my Sims on Simport till I know it's working, so I'll just work on leveling them up in game then catch up later -- some folks are going to be getting some very talented Sims for their lower level venues!

2. A lot don't seem to be able to SimPort. No need to report at all until you feel you're the only one
3. Crashes, Troubles with the launcher or any other issues of more technical nature go in the technical forum
4. Any discussion about the leaked patch or it's functionality or issues with it go in here.

I'm really confused. I patched through the launcher, and now when I hover over the base game I'm on 1.32.3 ... but I patched like... midnight GMT last night... after all this says that the patch was pulled.

Er, I really wouldn't advise using a free internet security program. AVG also does a paid version, do you really think they're going to give you their best service for free if they do that?

My job is fixing people's comps. I can't count how many times someone has come in with a 'software fault' which I immediately spot as a virus and get 'But I have AVG, I'm protected!' or words to that effect. I think on average I find at least 100 or so virus' on people with free antivirus progs when I do a thorough scan. Use a paid program, I don't care if it's Norton, Kasperksy, Trend, Eset or even Vipre. Free ones are deceptive....you *will* get infected.

I also have worked on computers for years and agree. "Free AV" programs are normaly not up to the quality of comercial products.

That being said even a comercail product can let a virus in. All it takes is someone to change a small line of code and recompile to make a new virus.

There is no program that will stop 100% of viruses on the market. However you do get what you pay for in an AV program.

I still don't have this game, and I stated the reasons why. "Security in/out of the game and questions/issues with the server. Well my questions weren't answered and now here we are. In this series, this is the first time IIRC, a patch has ever been pulled. No one can have any fun "if" they can't play and/or play it safely. If they're going to flip the script on the game adding all this social stuff then they better be ready to support it.

So, do I have a corrupt patch or something? Is that what all this talk is about, how EA pulled the patch?

If you go into your game and you don't have any of the EP7 stuff in CAS like werewolf sliders, etc. I would say you're fine. The only thing you're waiting for now is the server.

Ugh I am confused lol. I was at patch 1.31 (I think) and then patched the game right up via the launcher as soon as I saw it was out (before they pulled it back)
Does this mean I have the leaked patch?

After installing the latest patch, when I attempt to play, my game loses all video and the audio loops. I have to shut down my computer every time this happens. I thought it was my video card, but it ran fine with Showtime before the patch.

A quick update on how my uninstall and reinstall is going with all my games and what I have discovered.
First I have the physical copies of these:
The Sims 3 Deluxe
World Adventures
Town Life Stuff
Generations
Pets
And I have the Digital Downloads of these:
High End Loft Stuff
Late Night
Fast Lane Stuff
Showtime

Now I am on the uninstall and reinstall process number 4. By that I mean I have tried various times to completely start from scratch with my installation of all stuff and ep. No cc, no mods, no store content.
The first time I installed Deluxe and World Adventures. Loaded the game and it worked fine. Then I tried to install HELS digital, because I wanted to install them in order. Well, I downloaded HELS and it said I had to open the launcher and install the update before it would allow me to install HELS. So I did this. And it installed update 1.31. I then installed HELS and loaded the game. It crashed as soon as I loaded into a house.

I did this entire process again, and it crashed in a different house. It will load the home fine and the sims, but as soon as a sim goes to interact with anything that's when it crashes.

So I did all of that again, but I loaded the game with the update before installing HELS. It crashed.

So, now I know that 1.31 is the culprit, I went and uninstalled everything again. I have installed all my physical copies, and they run fine without the launcher update (1.31).
Now what? I still have the digitals to install, that don't seem to work with that 1.31 update. I know I should update and install the digital versions to see what happens, but this has been a very long and tedious process.

Ok. Fed up. I've done everything I can do to try and get this game to work. I even just installed the base game and allowed it to do all the updates from the launcher it prompted me to do before loading it.
It crashed at the point in the tutorial when you have a sim sit on the couch.
This makes no sense at all. I've tried uninstalling everything and as soon as I apply the new update, the whole thing crashes. No matter what order I install and at what point I update. Trust me, I've done it about 6 times now.
My last attempt went as follows:
Base game disc installed. Opened the launcher, clicked the updates and it prompted me to update. Here's where it went hairy. LOL It opened the origin installer ( the green and grey install window) after which it opened a install shield wizard that said "The InstallShield Wizard is updating (1.00.631) of The Sims 3 to version 1.31.118.
I then loaded the launcher. Another update prompt which installed via origin again (the green and grey load window)followed by yet another intall shield wizard which went from 1.31.118 to 1.32.3.
Then The Sims 3 Update window popped up (this one is grey with dark blue bars) and says something along the lines of "dfc - gorilla by Pocket Soft Inc. Copyright 2003-2009 Pocket Soft, Inc."
At this point I am no longer getting update prompts from the launcher, so I hit play. It is base game with a Showtime load screen. Hmmmm. I haven't installed showtime. (I wonder if people just purchasing base game will have the same results...) It allowed me to log in at the main menu. And just beneath the log in it says "Register you game!" I did, I just did it on a new Sim profile, which I made for my son (who has been happily playing all of my eps and stuffs on the desktop since friday). I load Sunset Valley and go through the tutorial, all seems fine UNTIL I get to the point where I tell my sim to sit on the newly placed couch (as directed by the tutorial) and bam. Crash to desktop.
Now I plan to install Showtime. I want to see if that will fix the conflict. Seeing as how the game has a Showtime load screen. We Shall see.

Edit: I only keep posting my attempts hoping that the programmers can get an idea of what some of us are doing and what is and isn't working.

Edit: Crud I just found another thread that showed the sliders everyone is talking about. I looked in the wrong place so now I will need to go back and look again. Update: I know it's taking a long time to say whether or not installing Showtime helps, but it's still downloading via Origin. Sorry. I'll post my results when I get there. At this point I just have base game with the updates installed still, and it crashes.

Same answer I gave before. Are you really at 1.32 check the version on the launcher vs the skuversion.txt in the basegame folder. Go into your game and see what you have in CAS, that would probably be the easiest. You should be able to play the game via the executable file if you can't via the launcher.

I did this entire process again, and it crashed in a different house. It will load the home fine and the sims, but as soon as a sim goes to interact with anything that's when it crashes.

So I did all of that again, but I loaded the game with the update before installing HELS. It crashed.

So, now I know that 1.31 is the culprit, I went and uninstalled everything again. I have installed all my physical copies, and they run fine without the launcher update (1.31).
Now what? I still have the digitals to install, that don't seem to work with that 1.31 update. I know I should update and install the digital versions to see what happens, but this has been a very long and tedious process. [/quote]

That said, I don't understand why you shouldn't be able to install the above in any order regardless of how you have it, except ST will still be the last EP. I think regardless it takes you to 1.31, even if you installed ST with the disk I do believe 1.31 is on the disk.

Regarding your post about the "dfc - gorilla by Pocket Soft Inc. Copyright 2003-2009 Pocket Soft, Inc." error. I haven't seen that since 2009. A good friend had that and it was due with the nude patch, which had changed the shader file. Go to the below and see if you have the shader file in the game/bin folder for the base game. If not, do the below. I would uninstall everything, completely clean the registry, do a disk clean up and defrag, then reinstall the base game only. Don't update via the launcher using the automatic updates. Just check the version tags on the launcher vs. the skuversion.txt in the program files. After you get Delux installed, make sure you do the below and that the shader file is in the program files for the base game. Then continue installing wether DVD or DD in release order. That should get you back to 1.31 if you install Showtime last.

As is I just installed Showtime. Crashed every time I loaded the game no matter what I did. I tried turning off notifications, and shop, and continuing without logging in, as well as the opposite. I did drag the folders to desktop and did it again, no luck, still crashed. So I'll try your suggestion next.

Although in order to install the DD, it forces me to update via the launcher first. Do I need to check the shaders with each install? I know the physical copies are playable as long as I don't install any updates besides the ones on the discs.

I did what you suggested before uninstalling just to see what would happen, and it wouldn't let the game load afterwards. : /

I have it in every game/bin folder up to OLS. Gen is when they change how the game updates so only the base game will update. Regardless, it should get you back to 1.31 patch. As far as the crashing, have you added all the game .exe files to the DEP list? I usually add them all not just the base game (TS3W.exe) file. Then for whatever the last EP/SP I have in the release (which for me is Master Suite), I add the Sims3Launcher.exe file as well. Of course when you do this you must reboot your computer in order for the change to take affect.

If you are at 1.31 and you have the update in the launcher for 1.32 you should be okay to install. I had someone do this last night and they are fine. It's the super patcher that caused issues. So if you have the prompt in the launcher go for it. If you have mods, etc... make sure to remove all that stuff first.

NOTE: It appears the simport servers are back online and active. It also appears the my pages are active again and have been reset like they were before with a few exceptions. Now the most recent comment will appear on top instead of the bottom.

So if you have bugs to report for simport then you can go back to reporting those in Crinrict's bug thread. Make sure to follow the directions she has given in the original post.

Wow, I'm with you. It looks like I had a narrow escape. I updated on Friday afternoon Australian time, and everything worked perfectly, and then the next time I came here found all these 1.32 problems. In fact I thought that was the one I manually downloaded from the thread that was her, and was pleased to find it was the 1.31 I installed.

When did the 1.32 patch come out? It must have been so fast that it came and went without me noticing.

I'm waiting to see now how Bloodrayne goes with her update through the launcher before I dare do anything else whatsoever!

That is good. Make sure all of your mods are compatible with 1.32 patch. I do know Twallan's mods are compatible with 1.31/1.32, so be sure to check the state of the mod. If you have other mods you need to check those, specifically any core mods. Good Luck!

You haven't provided enough information. You just said you can't play. Are you get an error? When did you patch to 1.32? Do you have Mods?

I'm not getting any errors, my game freezes about every 5 seconds, sometimes only for about 1 second sometimes it stays frozen for up to 20 seconds. I patched to 1.32 just yesterday and I have no mods or cc.

Ok, so my friend just left. I watched him install and DEP both the game .exe and the launchers and then troubleshoot the desktop icon to each ep after he installed them. He did this without updating once or even opening the launcher. Once he finished doing all of that to these EP's:

Pets
Then he opened the launcher and ran the game without updating still.
The game ran fine, without crashing. The sims interacted with each other and objects just fine. Then he quit and saved and left (it's 11pm here). So, now I am downloading Late Night via origin. I will install the update if it requires me to (in order to install) and then do all the same things he did. Cross your fingers for me.

Are you running Windows? If so, did you add the base game executable back to the DEP list after you patch/updated?

What are your system specs? Please run then post your DxDiag report.

- When the DxDiag window appears, click Save All Information... in the bottom-right corner.
- Save the information as a .TXT file containing your computer's information.

Yes that is fine. Make sure to reboot your machine after the change and then go back and check DEP to make sure everything is there. You must reboot in order for the change to take affect.

I really wish they would test all newer EPs with WA as well instead of just the base game. This is a reoccurring issue that keeps getting broke with every consecutive release. This belongs in the Technical forum.

Hokay, before I uninstall and reinstall for the fourth time in four days... I was reinstalling while reading this thread and I'm not sure the implications of 1.32 being pulled have dawned on me yet.

* I have showtime but I have not installed it yet, I was waiting a week or two because I was concerned about a number of things (bugs/security issues waiting to happen).

* I DID patch the other day to 1.32 because of achievements (sigh).

* I had problems in game with what I would call pre-existing bugs but also got a new "can't download from the store without some fun shop mode hack workaround."

* I just got off a chat with tech support for an unrelated issue in which I mentioned the above (can't download from store since 1.32 -- I had no issues after fresh reinstall which I had hoped would fix the problem if it was corruption on my end... ) in which I was told "a lot of people have that problem now." Having worked in IT (cough) I asked a few pointed questions. It's a known issue, it's not my problem it's theirs, and they are working on a fix. I don't know why in all my scanning of the store forums nothing has been mentioned. Maybe it lurks in 1.32 stuff? Maybe it hasn't been mentioned, but it is somehow tied to 1.32 patch.

It seems as if that's the only issue I have with 1.32, if I do not install Showtime and wait on 1.33 (heh, I was about to install it tonight, sigh), that I can continue to use my shop mode workaround for downloads, and experience all "usual" other bugs that I had been experiencing with the game.

* Finally, as a general aside/rant/curiosity, if the 1.32 patch has been pulled (from the majority of this entire thread, I take it you mean the super patch for 1.32; I have been using the 1.31 super patch and then incrementally upgrading to 1.31 via the launcher...) -- WHY am I still being prodded via the launcher as late as an hour ago to patch to 1.32 if the patch was pulled? Or is it just the super patch that was bad?

I have about 20 minutes to wait for a download to finish before I either do yet another fresh install and stop at 1.31 or just ... grin and bear being at 1.32 for a few days the way I am.

I don't really see anything of concern on your DxDiag report. The only thing I can suggest is to check the display settings on the desktop vs the display settings in the game under options. Sometimes if they aren't set correctly it will cause the issue you're having. You must go in and reset all of the options in the game after a patch/update or new game install because they will reset to default.

If you can play your game, I'd count my blessings. I'm sure this is annoying the crap out of you, but I haven't even been able to play showtime since I first installed it. :'( I don't see a reason to do a fresh install. They will fix the store issue. It is revenue for them after all.

You truly have my sympathies. I have spent very little time playing over the last few days due to tech support telling me to do full reinstalls for things I think are ultimately EA issues, but try getting them to believe that.

But yeah -- if I *had* installed showtime I would have not reinstalled it by now. If that makes sense

I'm just confused why they are still auto-updating people to 1.32...

The 1.32 super patcher was pulled and is still hidden. I also have the 1.32 update in my launcher. I manually downloaded 1.31 super patch to install and never got around to it. I'm technically still at 1.29 as I did not want the social features in my game. If you are at 1.31 (check to make sure), you should be able to patch to 1.32 via the launcher.

Aaaah lol I've never actually had my game screen to the right resolution My monitor is 1920x1080, so its a bit rectangular, I'm looking at getting one a bit more square. But your advice worked!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! My sim's bar is a bit smaller but I'll trade that for a game that works anyday
And I'm not getting the sharp pixelated edges that drove me insane anymore!

Those of you having crashing issues and have the digital download version of some ep or stuff, please add the digital download to the DEP You will not find the executable in the regular "Electronic Arts" folder. Instead it will be located in the "Origin Games" folder.

And don't forget to restart after each install and DEP. Restarting makes sure the DEP changes are saved. (Thanks for that bluenote. That may have been my issue earlier.) Also be sure to troubleshoot if you have Windows 7. Mine had incompatibility issues.

Gaaaaaah its back.... kind of Definitely not as bad as before I'd probably consider it more lag than freezes, and it seems confined to just Starlight Shores (I was playing AP then once I fixed my resolution I thought I'd finally play in SS and all my other neighbourhoods seem fine too). So I'm guessing its a problem with SS....

Could be. The only thing I can suggest is disk cleanup and defrag. I would assume with all the online stuff going on it's clogging up and causing lag. That is why I have never used memories and all that other nonsense from the start. No in-game store none of it. I don't want my game files unnecessarily large because of that stuff. I use mods to turn all that stuff off.

I also heard there are store issues... but I don't know because I'm not at the point where I'm concerned about it, YET. I'm just trying to get the game to run. I'm almost at the finishing line though. I can feel it.

Could be. The only thing I can suggest is disk cleanup and defrag. I would assume with all the online stuff going on it's clogging up and causing lag. That is why I have never used memories and all that other nonsense from the start. No in-game store none of it. I don't want my game files unnecessarily large because of that stuff. I have memories and opportunities turned off too, I can't stand them . @exotic kitten I definitely don't find you annoying, I use the forums all the time to find help with game stuff... its what they're there for and luckily there are awesome people like blunote who take the time to try and help us, so don't feel bad

Still not done yet. I'm waiting for the update to finish installing. Getting that to work was a trial in patience as well. The launcher kept crashing when I clicked on refresh under updates. Sooo, being resourceful me, I cheated. I right clicked and troubleshot compatibility on the shortcut to get the launcher to open in troubleshoot. Ha HA! And it worked. Getting there slowly. I imagine this laptop needs a cool off at some point. It's been running pretty much all day and half the night for 3 days trying to get this fixed. LOL But I won't cut it off until I have a final report.

I don't know anything about my store content, I'll mess with all of that tomorrow, because there's a TON. But showtime and all the ep's appear to finally be working.
I don't like that I have to run the launcher through troubleshoot to load it proper, but I can bypass the launcher by just placing the showtime.exe on my taskbar. But yay! Thanks bluenote and crinrict!!! You both have been very patient with me. I don't know if it was just restarting after DEP or the not updating at all until the very end or the order in which I did update or a combination of everything, but it worked. And it only took me three days of trial and error to get it working. Now I can sleep knowing I have tomorrow off without any kids around so I can play. YIPPY

Has anyone mentioned having short freezes while in-game?

I've been going in game, logging in, turning on my in-game notifications and then start playing. Game runs fine and then out-of-the blue my game will freeze, no time moving on the clock but I can hear game sound. This will stay like this for a few seconds, etc... depending and then suddenly everything starts to move again and game runs fine. No crashes, etc...

I'm cc free, my drivers are up-to-date and I didn't have this issue prior to ST and maybe prior to the last patch, 1.32.

From what I understand, only people that are at patch level 1.32 can login and use the online features. Otherwise, they are blocked if they are still at patch 1.31 because patch 1.32 is what keeps the CC from passing via simport. So I know of no one that can login to simport or use the online features at patch level 1.31.

I have no idea when a new patch will be available. I have the same information as all of you which is they are working on it. I know you all are anxiously awaiting to play the games you've all paid for. And although I do not have this EP and don't plan on getting it anytime soon, I do feel for you all and will try to help you as best I can.

As for the freezing and lag, I am hearing there is way more lag/freezing issues with this particular patch. However, I do believe this may have started with patch 1.31 as that is the patch that turned on the online features. In my opinion, the more stuff you turn on (i.e. memories, my sim did this or that), will bog down the game, use more CPU, and make your rigs work much harder. I can only suggest turning off a lot unnecessary stuff like the in-game store, keeping your computers maintenanced regularly, turn off background programs... the usual stuff.

I will assume you are at patch level 1.31 as you did not state what patch level you are currently at. The only thing I can suggest is to make sure you have all your Windows updates particularly anything relating to the MSIE browser. Also make sure your Java is updated Version 1.6.0_31, Origin is at Version 8.5.0.4554 - 144681, clear your browser's history, cache, temp, cookies, java-runtime errors. Try to remember the launcher is web based, so do all you can to get patch 1.32 to somehow reload in the launcher. I do believe that the current version of patch 1.32 in the launcher "is" a good version.

Just wanted to report back that reverting to 1.31 worked and my game is playable again - intermittent Sims freezing is gone!!!

I uninstalled the base Sims 3 game, then reinstalled it, patched it to 1.31, and DID NOT patch it to 1.32.

I also spoke to an EA representative via the Origins help desk and he said EA is aware of all the problems with patch 1.32 and is working on a fix, but not ETA as there are a lot of problems.

Note that if you patched your mods to 1.32, but uninstall your base game, reinstall and update only through 1.31, that you'll either have to disable your mods for now or revert to an earlier mod that supports 1.31.

Can I add that I do have memories disabled and I also have the store content stuff blocked, including from downloading any files in the "featureditems" folder. But I still have that sporadic lag. It's just annoying that you can be playing then suddenly everything freezes then a few seconds later unfreezes.

Maybe I should have stuck to my guns and avoided this EP because I feel like I'm running around trying to fix and deal with all the little annoying things (like no singer sounds) that I haven't enjoyed myself yet. And the EP has potential to be fun, if they would have ironed this all out prior.

Oh and I should add that I think I unbeknownst to me I deleted my data that showed which stamps I had earned yesterday, so down the drain went what things I did manage to accomplish between all the bugs. Murphy's Law seems to apply to all things Sim related.

I use Sims 3 and Ambitions through Steam and I was informed that I had an update. I updated my game and now my Sims receive opportunities, but they are never completed. For example, they will go talk to someone, but the game does not register that they talked with that person. Also, I cannot delete certain items. I receive an error saying that the item is in use when it is not.

Does anyone else have these issues and is there any way I can fix them?

Same answer I gave before. Are you really at 1.32 check the version on the launcher vs the skuversion.txt in the basegame folder. Go into your game and see what you have in CAS, that would probably be the easiest. You should be able to play the game via the executable file if you can't via the launcher.

Since Gen was released, it is the base game that gets patched. So what I meant was to hover over the launcher icon for the base game. That is the icon that will tell you where you are patched and it should match the skuversion.txt file in the Game\Bin folder for the base game under Programs.

The version number on the launcher is the last game you installed. That should match the version number when you hover over that icon, as well as the skuversion.txt file in the Game\Bin folder under Programs. The same is true for every other icon in between.

The only thing I can do is suggest the same things as I suggested to the others. Not sure what your computer specs are but if this was an issue before then I'm sure it's gotten worse with this new EP. Idk how you feel about using Mods like Twallan's Overwatch to help clean up things (i.e. spawned cars) but it probably couldn't hurt.

I would say if you patched via the launcher then you have the good version of the 1.32 patch. As for patch 1.33, I just walked in the door and I'm seeing all kinds of reports and lots of confusion. So I would just leave it at 1.32 for now until there is less confusion and more clarification.

So I easily got my launcher back and I started my game. A couple mods still need to be updated, but all of my favorites are still fine. All of the cool leaked stuff is now gone, skin, ears, etc.

But, my game runs much more smoothly. No lag or pauses, I like that.

This time I'm also confused...I patched my game from 1.29-1.31(super patch), then 1.31-1.32(1.31-1.32 patch), so does it mean I got a good version of 1.32? And this time EA doesn't supply 1.32-1.33...and many suggest not use the 1.3x mega patch...what should I do this time? Waiting?

Not sure yet. I have the same info that Crinrict has, but I updated the original post with the updated patch info and a link to the wiki on MTS about the patch. Some say they are having more issues with patch 1.33 and some aren't. Lag and freezing appear an issue since 1.31. I'm also not sure if you need to be at 1.33 to simport. I would recommend waiting until more information comes in.

I just made a system recovery point, did a manual superpatch (I NEVER use the launcher for patching!),
had some Adrenalin minutes during installation and heading for Starlight Shores and -
I'm here, talking to you.
No nuclear fireball visible from space. All is well.
The world (of Sims) still stands.

I begin to understand it more. The OP of that MTS thread said using 1.31 mega patch causes problem like ST collector icon missing. I checked my game folder and game itself last night. It's really missing...so I'm gonna re-install my base game and use 1.29 mega patch and then 1.29-1.31 and 1.31-1.33.

Okay. Let me know how it goes. Hopefully, you will be able to Simport if you can get to patch 1.33 "safely" for lack of a better term. I'm positive you can't Simport at patch 1.29.

Okay. Let me know how it goes. Hopefully, you will be able to Simport if you can get to patch 1.33 "safely" for lack of a better term. I'm positive you can't Simport at patch 1.29.
