We haven't heard a lot about it yet, so how do you think the outerwear section will work: similar to TS2 Seasons or divided into specific outerwear for each season? Although the second idea sounds better, it would take an awfully long time, yet at the same time I wouldn't be overly pleased with the same system as in TS2 Seasons.

Some kind of thermometer has been mentioned, we can view either Fahrenheit or Celsius I reckon it might be similar to TS2 where they change into their outerwear as they go outside. Either way, I don't really mind

How do you think outerwear will work?

Honestly it hurts my brain to even think how it could work. Since the thermometer will be in though I'm pretty sure they'd automatically change into there outerwear.
I'm really interested to see how it'll all look in CAS since I didn't have the sims 2 seasons.
But as for weddings...I hope they don't freeze to death in their formal attire if you have it in the winter!
Maybe a spring wedding on Love Day?

I was curious about this too! There are specific outfits that I have purchased from the store for example, that I would love to be able to wear in outwear, because it just seems to suit with the long sleeves and scarves and such. I hope that you will be able to choose which content to organize into each category to some extent; but if not, I will just settle for my sims looking snug in their store clothes indoors only.
I've also heard that Seasons brings a CAS update that will really organize things. I'm glad too! All of those clothes/hair were REALLY starting to lag up my game!
Perhaps you will not only be able to open the sections from expansions/stuff/store at will, but you may also be able to drag-and-drop between outwear as well?
That's what I am hoping anyway, but it doesn't seem likely.

Oh well. Still love Seasons!!!

I hope we will be able to tag the hats as outerwear. I really hate the hats! Who wears a hat all the time? Especially some of those hats. Actually, I would like a feature where I could choose, in game, the clothing categories. I really wonder about the clothing tagged as "formal" sometimes.

I think they will switch into outerwear automatically, if the temperature outside (=weather= is below a certain grade. I don't thik each sim will have a temperature check for clothing.

I worry a little about this all because in my game some sims can stand still for a very long time waiting for their outfit "to get ready", ie if I tell them to go to bed, they can stend 30 sim minutes just waiting for changng into sleepware. Might be my system that is boarderline, but performance is fine in all other ways. Imagining non played sims blocking entrances as they wait to put on outerwear, lol.

Re:How do you think outerwear will work?

I wouldn't be surprised to see the ability to make 3 or 4 different outerwear outfits. (i.e. like how you can make up to 3 everyday outfits)

However, it would be slightly different to other outfits, in that each one has a icon beside it indicating what season it applies to and when you click the "Add" button, then it would give you an option of making another. And by default, the first one would always be Winter since that's when it's most necessary.

Alternatively if there is a temperature system, maybe you select outerwear per temperature. Allowing you to select one for freezing, cold and hot. (cold being Autumn or Spring, and Hot being summer where you can choose some shorts and t-shirt) Although I doubt there'd be any intention of using outerwear for summer, so it probably won't be available.

All said, I think by default we'll only have to make one outerwear outfit for Winter, and we can have the option to make another for autumn and spring.

...that is if it doesn't function like TS2 where you have one outerwear outfit regardless of season.

From what I recall and interpreted (so don't take my word concrete proof), but I do recall hearing in one of the live chats, I think, that you could assign different outfits for different seasons, (I think they referred to regular wardrobe choices, you know Everyday etc), that there were two categories of outerwear: snow and rain, as well as a separate category for Spooky Day costumes.

Don't take that as irrefutable proof, I may have misinterpreted what they said.
